Competition season has started and I am so excited! My first competition this year was held at Bristol Mountain. This competition was a so much fun and it was great to be back. The first day I ended up coming in 3rd place for the singles competition (singles meaning only one person skis the course at a time). On Sunday I came in 6th in the duals competition. Duals are where two competitors ski down the course and only one moves on. The judges decide who goes on to the next round based on your performance in the air, your form while skiing the moguls, and speed which is how fast you are able to complete the course. The higher score in all three of these segments is the winner of that round and they move on to face other winners, until there is one final winner. I ended up making it into the quarterfinals on Sunday but I was beat which placed me in 6th place. The Bristol Toyota Festival was a great way to start off the season!
The weekend after Bristol, my team and I travelled to Pennsylvania to compete in the Seven Springs Mogul Mania. Seven Springs is an awesome resort that is southeast of Pittsburgh. The events within this competition were a singles competition on both Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, there were no duals at this event but it was a good time to work on my form and airs while skiing the moguls. In addition, I loved being with all my FLITE teammates! I ended up taking first place on both Saturday and Sunday. It was a really fun event and a great weekend overall!
