Achievements

My accomplishments both on the slopes and off!

Off the Slopes:

When I am not skiing, I enjoy playing soccer, hanging out with friends, and working hard at school.

• My first and second semester in High School I was very excited to make the Honor Roll
• I am excited to be playing soccer for the Pittsford Mustangs Soccer Club
• In my free time, I enjoy volunteering at Allen’s Creek Elementary School as a tutor, Pittsford YMCA sports programs, and the Flight Team program.

On the Slopes:

The USSA keeps a national ranking of all of their athletes throughout the United States. These rankings enable the Athletes and Coaches to understand how they stack up against other athletes in the US (all ages and includes the US Ski Team) and at the Junior (under 18 years old) levels. Below you will see how my ski career has progressed over the past few years. I have broken the ranking out by region (Eastern) where I ski, and National (Overall US). It is very exciting to me that my name appears on the same lists as the Olympic Gold Medalist – Hannah Kearney!

US Freestyle is broken up into many different events, I compete in the 3 below:

1. Moguls: most commonly known and a hit in the Vancouver Olympics. Mogul courses are structured to have moguls, jump, moguls, jump, moguls. Athletes are ranked on their ability to ski the moguls tight (50%), how they perform their aerial tricks (25%), and how fast they can complete the course (25%).
2. Aerials: Much like Big Air. Athletes hit one jump and perform their various tricks in the air. They are ranked on their aerial performance and degree of difficulty for each trick.
3. Dual Moguls: structured the same as Moguls, Duals adds a different element as you have a competitor on the course with you. Judging and scoring is the same as Moguls, but speed is a very important part of this competition
